Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know before beginning Know Thyself. If your question isn’t here, Karen is always happy to hear from you.

What is Know Thyself?

Know Thyself is a year-long online journey for women, made up of five offerings: Sleeping Beauty, Blind Spots, Transformation, Power & Grace and Soul Journey. Through meditation, shamanic journeying, ritual and story, it invites you to explore your own spirituality, held throughout by an experienced, qualified psychotherapist..

No. Know Thyself isn’t therapy and doesn’t replace it. It draws on Karen’s two decades of clinical experience, so whatever arises is held with care, but it’s a spiritual and creative journey rather than treatment. If you’re currently in therapy, it can walk alongside that work.

None at all. Each offering is guided step by step, and you’re welcome to come with curiosity and nothing else. You are your own spiritual authority. The work simply asks you to check in and listen.

Each offering is a one-hour session followed by a longer follow-up call of 60 to 90 minutes. The follow-up gives you time to take in what arose and talk it through. Over the year there are five offerings in total.

Entirely online, on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in the UK and beyond. All you need is a quiet, private space where you won’t be disturbed, and a reliable internet connection.

There are three ways to join. One-to-one, full course: £1,000 for the year, paid in full or £200 before each offering. One-to-one, single offering: £225, including the session and follow-up call. Closed group, full course: £600 for the year, paid on joining.

Yes, one-to-one. A single offering is £225 and includes the one-hour session and the follow-up call. The group is for the full course only, so that the same women travel the whole year together.

No more than eight women. Groups are closed, which means the same women stay together from the first offering to the last, and nobody new joins partway through. Follow-up calls are held together as a group.

Dates for the next cohort are still to be confirmed. Register your interest and Karen will let you know as soon as they’re set.

Both are held by Karen Brewster. Finding You is her counselling and psychotherapy practice in Bishop’s Stortford. Awaken Her is home to Know Thyself, her course for women. If you’re looking for counselling, please contact Karen through Finding You.

Yes. What you share stays within the session, or within the group in group work. Karen works to the same ethical standards as in her clinical practice as a BACP registered member.

Get in touch through the contact page or register your interest. Karen will reply personally to answer any questions and talk through which option suits you best.

Still have a question?

Karen is always happy to talk things through. There’s no obligation, and no question is too small.
